"Gibney is incapable of anything else."</p><p>"MUSK" is the work of Emmy and <a target="" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/oscar-nominations-academy-award-nominees-winners-list-2025">Academy Award-nominated</a> documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney, who's made a name for himself by chronicling the lives of the rich and powerful. His films include "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room," which details the fall of Enron, "We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks," a look into the world of <a target="" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/julian-assange-years-small-cell-isolated-23-hours-day-wikileaks-2024-6">Julian Assange</a>, and "The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley," a documentary about <a target="" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/theranos-founder-ceo-elizabeth-holmes-life-story-bio-2018-4">Elizabeth Holmes</a>.</p><p>Musk also noted the film's length. "4 hours!!" Musk wrote, asking whether Gibney was trying to "bore people to death."</p><p>The film — which will premiere next month at the Venice Film Festival — runs about 232 minutes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It's scheduled to hit US theaters on October 16.</p><p>"MUSK" was announced in March 2023, prompting a response from the <a target="" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-ceo-elon-musk">Tesla CEO</a>.</p><p>"It's a hit piece," he wrote on Twitter at the time.</p><p>Gibney shot back.
